What Is Young Adult Carers MK?
Young Adult Carers MK is the young adult carers service for Carers MK, and supports young adults aged 16 -25 who live in Milton Keynes and have a caring role.
The caring role can effect young adults in a multitude of ways. We have a dedicated support worker who tailor their approach to suit the needs of the person they are supporting and tackle anything that rises around their caring role.
Our Aim
We aim to support young adult carers as they transition into adulthood and independence whilst continuing to provide unpaid care for a family member at home.
The aim of our service is to provide the right support for young adult carers based on their individual needs. We do this through:
- providing information and advice
- signposting to other organisations
- the opportunity to meet with other young adult carers, who may share similar experiences to you, through targeted support groups, social activities and life skills programmes
