National Poetry Day 2024

To celebrate National Poetry Day on 3rd October 2024, we invited carers to enter our Poetry Competition. Carers had to write and submit an original poem with the theme of “What Does Caring Mean To You?”

New online support tool for unpaid carers

Bridgit Care, funded by Milton Keynes City Council, have partnered with Carers MK to provide an online support tool for unpaid carers in Milton Keynes. Get info to help in your caring role, health and wellbeing advice, WhatsApp coaching and more.

Carers MK Peer Support Facebook Group

Join our Carers MK Peer Support Facebook Group to chat with other carers, offer tips and ideas, share experiences about what has helped you in your caring role, or just simply say how you’re feeling. This closed private group is for carers aged 18+ who are registered with Carers MK, and it will be monitored by Carers MK on weekdays 9am – 4.30pm.

Carer’s Leave Act

On 6th April 2024, the Carer’s Leave Act 2023 came into force, giving employees with unpaid caring roles the right to take up to five days of unpaid leave from work each year to fulfil their caring responsibilities.
