Carers MK and Carers Bucks parkrun tour

At Carers MK, we know that being a carer brings many rewards, but it can also be challenging, leaving carers little time to focus on their own wellbeing, and, as a result, carers can be at greater risk of developing low mood, anxiety, and chronic back problems. There is a wealth of evidence that shows that both gentle and vigorous exercise can be very beneficial for people’s physical and mental health.

Join us!

We would like to invite you to be part of our Carers MK and Carers Bucks parkrun community. Parkruns are free, 5K timed events taking place at 9am on Saturday all over the county, the UK and the world! They are not races – you can walk, jog, run; all abilities are warmly welcomed. Some courses are on flat terrain, others are definitely more hilly!

Although parkruns are free, you need to register in advance if you want to know your official time for the 5K. We look forward to seeing you!

9th September – Buckingham parkrun.org.uk/buckingham
14th October – Amersham parkrun.org.uk/churchmead
11th November – Milton Keynes parkrun.org.uk/miltonkeynes

The Story So Far!

Our Carers MK and Carers Bucks 2023 parkrun tour began in February at Aylesbury, where we received a warmer welcome from the race director than the weather! Aylesbury offers a completely flat course, unlike our March venue, Wendover Woods, which, despite a stunning location, is very, very hilly. Kudos to our Carers MK team member, Chloe, who chose Wendover Woods as her first ever parkrun! We also enjoyed our visit to Linford Wood in Milton Keynes in May and Black Park in South Bucks in June.
