Carers MK’s Carers Week activities

Throughout Carers Week, we had many online activities and workshops for carers. Thank you to everyone who attended!

Photography by young carers

During lockdown, some of our young carers got the opportunity to take part in a photography workshop with Create, the UK’s leading charity empowering lives through the creative arts.

Check out these fantastic photos taken by young carers!

What does being a young carer mean to you?

Our Young Carers team asked our young carers ‘what does being a young carer mean to you?’

This is a response from one of our young carers.

Carers do all this and more…

The theme of this year’s Carers Week was ‘Make Caring Visible’ and with that in mind, Carers Bucks wanted to highlight the role of an unpaid carer and show how important it is to have services like Carers Bucks to support unpaid carers.

Carers support family and friends, who are ill, frail or disabled, in many ways; administering medication,  practical support, emotional support, personal care, financial help and physical help, all whilst trying to maintain their own lives.

What does being a young carer mean to you?

Our Young Carers Milton Keynes and Young Carers Bucks teams asked our young carers to sum up what being a young carer means to them & what they like about our young carers groups and these words are what the young carers came back with.
