Carers Week 2023

Carers Week 2023 is an annual national campaign to recognise and celebrate the UK’s 5.7 million unpaid carers, and to raise awareness and highlight the challenges they face.

It took place between Monday 5th – Sunday 11th June and the theme this year was “Recognising and Supporting Carers in the Community”.

Our team were busy raising awareness, holding information stands at Milton Keynes University Hospital, highlighting the support Carers MK can offer when you or the person you care for is in hospital, and reiterating the importance of carers being involved in healthcare conversations from admission to hospital stays, through to discharge and beyond.

As well as various gatherings for tea, cake, and quizzes, we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea for older carers at Browns in Central Milton Keynes.

Congratulations, too, to our Carers Week competition winner – well done!
